Stardust

Floating in a
sea of myriad
stars we search
for meaning.

We wait
and watch at
dawn and dusk -

Where shores
of death and life
in twilight dim
ebb slowly back
and forth

and carve their
hope into my
soul that reaches

back to aeons past
to worship with
the ghosts of
hopes and dreams
yet unfulfilled.

Conversations

The words
we speak of
weather and
dates and when
I have to go -
seem rather
ordinary when
with every word
I want to whisper
I love you!
- which leaves
me weak-kneed
and wanting
to hold you
across the odd
5,000 miles
of ocean blue
that separates
the sky from
me to you.

Autumn Fire

As autumn coyly
ushers in with
beckoning wind -
the winter's chill
embrace,

She tenderly
saps the green
from leaves
and leaves them
in her wake.

Arrayed in
passionate
flame from
her icy hand
they blush,

Blush to bloom
in fiery splendour
and burn -
burn themselves
to ash.

Fatigue

Dripping fatigue -
melting in tired
folds to sag
in puddles -
skin
against bones so
full of weary aching.

I plod.

I drag my feet
another step
another day
into the night
of Stygian existence
that threatens
to engulf
as I clutch with
weary
numb
heart
and fingers to
an existence
half asleep.

Pomegranate seeds
of mortality
deem a stay beneath
in mortal gloom.
Exhausted -
sapped
to wake again.

Some days
immortal Spring
seems far
and impossible
as I plod -

weary

Dripping in fatigue.
