Living in exile
I've become
different
disjointed
In head and heart
betwixt thought
and soul
My thoughts
lie jumbled
unallied
confused.
Patriotic fervour
feverishly languid
in my veins -
more for humanity
than country I cry.
My face hides
this patchwork
I've become
Chameleon
alien
Daughter
without a home.
