Icarus Dreams

I'm watching as
they slowly fall

And crash down
upon the rocks along
the shore -

They said to
let your dreams
fly free but all
they did was

Soar

Soar, for a moment
too near the sun

And with dripping
wax and scorched
wings, my dreams,
they all lie
dying.

Ariel

i would love to

disappear,

float away on
the ocean in
a string of
bubbles on the
water.

blue, green, blue
and nothingness

all

gone

away

Spring Gold

The golden petals dance
in the spring sunshine
newly born from
the hazed, grey fog
of winter to
smile in all their
newness and delight
at the universe.

Oh small petals
fluttering in the breeze
how you little you know
of hardship and
travail - and yet
your gladness melts
the sadness lying
in my heart -
even if it's only
for a moment.

Walking in Darkness

to lie down in the darkness,
in the hardness
of existence
and rest a while seems

but a dream to forever
chase through the muddy
effluence of being
that is life.

to lie down a while
while waiting to take
the next step in the plodding
ever onward darkness,
night unending.

I will wander in the
darkness for more
than a few hours --
I think

it does not seem
like I will ever reach
the tree at all.
