Lighthouse Moments

Lighthouse moments
of dark between
circling light
illuminate the loneliness
of longing, hope caught
in missed timing
as waves of fate
crash breaking
on the shore.
Finding you between
those moments
when silent shadow
marks time of waiting
for a gap between
the rocks.
For a moment
your face, caught
in light
before the shadow
blankets you again in darkness.
What is it that we are doing
in these missed half-moments
before the light?
Will I find you
before the storm sweeps me out to sea?
